My previous review was about my lack of interest in the production of The Veil now I’m going to review the complete opposite and talk about why I couldn’t go to sleep J
Instead of a play I’ve decided to review a club. But not just any club, a super club. According to golondon.com, The Ministry of Sound is one of the best clubs in London. If you are into dance music and more dance music then this is the club for you.
With five different rooms, four bars, four dance floors and four different DJs playing in each room the Ministry of Sound aims to please. My experience there started with just celebrating someone’s birthday. The tube ride was not far and very easy to manage since it was only a few stops away on the Bakerloo line.
Of course since this is a very popular club in London a fee comes along with gaining entrance. The thirteen-pound cover charge put a little dent in my pocket but I didn’t let it stop me from having a good time. After finding the right line, being groped and having my bag checked we were finally inside. The atmosphere was like expected—a large dark room with colorful lights.
The main room, Main Bar, is where all other rooms in the club can be accessed. The room was packed with a lot of guys surprisingly. This must be where they are all hiding. The bar was long and filled with lots of bartenders. There was also a sitting area for those feeling the need to take a break.
The next room is The Box where you can find the hardest partiers. The atmosphere is amazing and you can feel all the positive energy from the people around you. The music is so loud that it creeps through your whole body and forces you to move your feet. I even managed to make it all the way to the DJ booth where the real party animals were. This kind of energy made me think of the large crowds at Coachella and all of the dancing and singing that happened for four days in the scolding heat.
Most of the music, if not all, played was techno or house music. This was a little of a disappointment because I was hoping for a variety of sounds from one of the best clubs in London. But I started to like the club once I looked up and saw disco balls in the Baby Box room. I later discovered that different music is played depending on which day you visit.
The venue sets itself a part from others by offering intimate dance floors as well as large floors. I felt the different rooms were the most interesting because I didn’t know what to expect when I walked in. I had a great time and may drop some more pounds to go back.
