The Most Unusual & Entertaining Show in London

La Soiree

Upon arriving at the venue for the burlesque cabaret circus show, La Soiree, I knew that it would be a fun and unique performance. Unknowing exactly what to expect I immediately began to get excited when the usher upgraded our seats and sat us in the front row; we were placed in the best seats in the house, right where all the action took place. The start of the show opened with two puppeteers who set the mood for a sassy and humorous show. The remainder of the show comprised of various talented and whacky acts, which included very unusual yet extremely entertaining performers. For example, there was the funny and just totally unnatural contortionist who shocked the audience when he was able to twist and bend his body through a tennis racquet. I had absolutely no idea that that would be physically possible, but obviously this man was truly one of a kind. I was in complete awe after his performance and that feeling stayed with me for the rest of the circus.
Another amazing act that truly caught my attention were the acrobatic male duo called The English Gents. These two intensely strong and stable men managed to climb and balance up each other while casually puffing a pipe and reading the newspaper. The highlight of their act was when one of ‘the English Gents’ was doing a one handed handstand on top of the other Gent; the bottom Gent stood strong and didn’t seem to break a sweat as his fellow Gent was putting his entire body weight purely on his skull. I do have to admit that the real climax of their performance was when they ripped off their classy suits and revealed their completely toned body while wearing nothing but a Speedo with an English flag on it.  Also, I can’t forget to mention the ‘Bath Boy’ who is the shirtless gymnast who does aerial ballet using a bathtub as his main prop. Adding water into a performance sure does leave the audience slightly damp. Talk about a scandalous and fascinating performance!
La Soiree had me laughing and sitting at the edge of my seat. This odd family circus was truly the most amusing show I have ever seen in my entire life. It was such a perfect mix of a talented, charming, sexy and humorous burlesque cabaret circus show. I highly recommend going to this show! It was nothing but completely amazing. Take a date or a good friend who would appreciate this type of performance and enjoy a night filled with hours of cringes, laughs and even a couple awing mouth drops.
